A Simple Start - CO2 Capture Project Plan

Your ongoing support of this project page is having a positive effect -- thank you all again, please keep it up.  At the moment this is akin to a trickle, but will hopefully gain steam as things progress.  Since we are seeing some movement on the matter, here's a rough outline of how I plan for this first project to progress:
  • pre-Phase 1: assemble a very basic capture unit, in order to post a video demonstration
  • Phase 1: assemble a small version of the basic carbon dioxide scrubber/capture unit
  • Phase 2: assemble one of the units for post-capture processing, to convert the CO2 into one of a number of forms that are more suitable for storage and re-use, and avoiding sequestering CO2 "as-is" (calcium carbonate, baking soda, methane, carbon black, etc.)
  • Phase 3: in the hopes that by this point we'll have provided a sufficient proof-of-concept to gain a larger audience, then: assemble a green power source for the system, taking it off the grid;
  • Phase 4: assemble a pre-capture array which is to dramatically improve the rate at which capture can occur (this will likely be the most costly to set up), expanding the other elements as needed
As the support you're offering mounts up, I'll post progress updates to indicate how close we are to achieving the goal for each phase.

"pre-Phase 1" goal status: approximately 11% (Apr. 21)
